Month ago i bought my graphic card Asus Strix 980 Ti. Also i have a little problem. When i launch a game and fans accelerates ( spins up ) i can hear randomly ( not always ) for a moment little audible clicking\scratchy noises from a fans. Then after minute noise is gone and all is ok.

My new Gigabyte GTX 980 Ti has the Fan Stop feature, and when GPU is not under load all three fans stop spinning and the fan stop display lights up. Well, the Fan Stop LED is on, and the two rear fans are not spinning, but the front fan (directly under dual 8 pin PSU connectors) is running at full RPMs and is loud. Any ideas????.

If you take a close look at the features of one of the GTX 980 Ti cards, you will see the following: Fans only run when necessary, and turn off during idle.

When the temperature gets below 60C, fans turn to normal, but in couple seconds, they start working at %100 again. And the loop begins. Clean the graphic cards with isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs. Especially the GPU area and PCIe pins. Unplug the 4-pin VGA fan power cable, clean the pins and replug it. When you're done, reapply thermal paste on the GPU, remount the heatsink, plug it back in. Download and install the latest drivers from AMD's website.

And today I saw that the fans in my GTX 980 Ti are not spinning at all. Not when I turn on the computer, nor when the temperature of it reaches closer to 90 degrees. According to GPU-Z the procentage of the fan speed goes up when the temperature rises above like ~60 degrees C, but the rpm is still 0. What do I do?.

So live with this or rma card?Its only small rattles for few seconds when fans are spinning , then noise is gone. That's something to take up with tech support, they will advise you if you should rma your strix 980ti or not. I have the same rattle noise when fans coming to spin up. Afer a while noise is gone. If you set a curve in Afterburner it will override the system defaults for the 980TI. If you go to Afterburner, set the fan curve to 0% until the desired temperature to turn them off while idling 0.
